Uniform Tips
- Band letter jackets can be earned by your student's senior year. You will receive details then. Start collection patches now.
- Buy a Santa hat to have on hand before they actually need one.
- Have uniforms ready the night before a game (especially Freshman), because there is not much time between school dismissal at 3:45 and having to report to the field for an “away game” at approx 5:00.
- Several dry cleaners in Allen offer substantial discounts for band uniforms. Get them cleaned often. Every week if possible
- The uniforms need to last for years to come. Please take good care of them.
- My child leaves their garment bag at the band hall during games so they can change into street clothes before they leave.
- Stubborn scuff marks on your white marching shoes? Try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser- it works the best on those stubborn scuffs and most often solves your problems.
- Uniform Room is in the back corner of the AHS band hall (opposite corner as the doors into the directors offices).
- (Beth Swiatek-uniform mom) I try to be in the uniform 1/2 hour before kids need to be on the field before events/games to handle minor uniform problems. (Missing buttons, sticky zippers, wrong color socks...)
- For more major problems (my jacket zipper has broken and I need a new jacket, or I split my pants and need new bibbers...) try and email me at the eagleuniformquestions@yahoo.com address and we can meet another time.
- Any uniform that is left for repair will be labeled with students name (tag on hanger) and left on the rack by the uniform room for pick up when repair is complete. If you are LEAVING a uniform for repair, please let me know first so I know to look for it! Label with name and problem!
- Concert uniform room is at Lowery (up the stairs thru the door immediately to your left as you enter the main band room at Lowery). Tuxes and gowns for concert season will be picked up and dropped off there. Fittings are done one concert band at a time. Days & times will be announced to students as we get closer. (Yes, they do try them on, so it may take a few minutes).
