Good Monday kids and parents! I'd like to congratulate you all on your performance this weekend! We're getting better and better! Keep it up!

This weekend as you know we are competing in the Winter Guard International Regional at South Grand Prairie HS. WGI events are a bit different than NTCA events. There is a preliminary round first, and then 15 Scholastic A groups will advance to finals. In the event that one or both of our groups makes finals, we will stay. If neither group advances to finals, we will come home and not stay for finals. Below is a rough schedule for the day:

• ALL meet at 7 AM in the AHS Cafeteria for run through. JV will unfold the floor while Varsity stretches. 7:20 JV run through.
• Load at 7:45
• Depart AHS at 8 AM
• Varsity performs at 10:04 AM
• JV performs at 1:41 PM
• Prelims conclude at 5:15 PM
• If neither guard advances to finals, we will depart South Grand Prairie at 5:30, arriving at AHS around 6:30 PM. If either or both guards advance, the performance time will be determined by their prelims ranking. (Please see Dallas Regional Contest Information below)
• Finals begin at 6:15 PM.
• Finals retreat approximately 10:55 PM. Arrive at AHS approximately 12:30 AM if we stay for finals.
• Students, please make arrangements to have a ride to pick you up from AHS on time!!!

2010 Dallas Regional Contest Information

Tickets for Prelims are $10, and $15 for Finals. All students need to bring $3 to buy a non-finalist backside seat in the event that one guard advances and the other does not. We will plan on doing lunch/dinner at the concessions to save time for students to prepare for their next performance.

I realize this may seem a bit confusing, so I am including an attachment from WGI with all of the information. (Please see Dallas Regional Contest Information above)

The JV championship date is now confirmed for Saturday, March 13. A schedule will be e-mailed out to you soon.

And finally, I'd like to invite you all to a free concert! My husband and I play in the Carrollton Wind Symphony and are performing in a concert this Friday. It is free and open to the public, so it makes for a cheap family outing or date night! Please see the attachment.
