Chaperoning
Chaperones are needed to assist the Escadrille students and staff with logistical support, student supervision and a general presence that enhances order and security for our group. Chaperones attend football games, marching and concert band contests, social events, and overnight trips. They help with drinks, supervision of students, wiping down the Esca-bleachers, props during the Escadrille show, and monitoring bathroom breaks.
Concessions
Volunteers are needed to work at concession stands for various sports events during the year. Concessions are a primary fund raiser for the Escadrille. The Escadrille Booster Association participates in a drawing at the beginning of the school year to select sports events to work at.
Fundraising
Volunteers help in a variety of ways with different fund raisers. You may be asked to prepare food, help serve food, sell tickets, clean up patrol, etc.
March-a-Thon
The March-a-Thon is a major fund raiser for individual student accounts that helps pay for the spring trip. Volunteers help with providing drinks for the students, assisting students, and giving moral support.
Pit Crew (Pit Bulls)
The pit crew is responsible for getting equipment to games, contests and weekly practices at Lowrey. They assist with moving instruments and props onto/off the field during half time. Drivers are needed as well to handle trucks.
Props
Volunteers are needed to construct props for the half time show.
Sewing
Sweat Shop Crew assists the Color Guard, the Tallenettes and the band with all sewing projects. They hem pants, make flags and costumes. If you can sew, iron, cut, or pin please get on this very important job list.
Social Events
Volunteers help with social events by decorating, selling tickets, making posters, chaperoning, organizing/donating food and more. Events like the Sock Hop, Esca-Olympics, Escadrille Banquet, and UIL Decorations (it’s an Escadrille tradition to decorate the band hall prior to UIL marching competition. Volunteers help design and decorate the hall and the school grounds to provide support for the students ) are considered Social Events.
Uniforms
During registration, volunteers help with pressing/sewing hems and minor alterations as well as fitting uniforms and sizing shoes. During the rest of the year, help is needed in organizing the storage room, changing/restocking uniforms and handing out concert clothing.
