2001 Region 3 Marching Contest

This year's 5A Region 3 marching competition will be held at Mesquite Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, October 24, 2001. A schedule of the days activities is provided by clicking here. If you would like to read more about how the contest is judged, October's Escadrille Newsletter has a nice article on the subject.

There's a lot of really good bands, color guards, and flag corps in Region 3 and they will all be performing in Mesquite on October 24. So, come and enjoy the music and support The Escadrille during their performance.

If you would like to volunteer at U.I.L. please contact Vicki Chiavetta 972.390.1085

Escadrille Historical Note

The Allen High School Escadrille has a rich history as documented in the U.I.L. archives. The Escadrille placed in the top three marching groups at the State U.I.L. marching contest for 5 consecutive years, 1985 - 1989. That amazing run included 1st Place finishes in 1987 and 1988.

In 1990, U.I.L. changed their marching competition format and began annually alternating the State 4A with the State 5A marching competition. 2001 is a 4A year and as such the Escradrille will not have a path to compete at the State Marching Competition until fall of 2002. However, a Superior Division Rating is a tradition for Escadrille and the first step in the coveted U.I.L. Sweepstakes Award.

Escadrille U.I.L. Memories

Your webmasters remember last year's Area marching contest when the Escadrille provided non-stop entertainment for the whole, wet, tired, and very sleepy stadium full of family members associated with the very best bands in the Metroplex. The Escadrille went to the visitors side and kept us laughing for an hour to 'Pop-Goes-The-Weasel,' 'Roller Coaster,' 'The Wave,' and lots of other spontaneous shows of youthful enthusiasm.
